About Us

OUR MISSION

KARW provides a venue for women to influence policy, develop candidates, and elect the leaders of Texas. We are a multi-generational, multi-cultural organization that provides structure and support for political activists to learn, engage, and flourish.

We block walk, phone-call, publish and post on social media to put more conservatives in office locally and state-wide. We are part of the Texas Federated Republican Women and the even-larger National Federated Republican Women, with an office and staff in Washington, D.C. and 60,000 members.

At our monthly general lunch meeting, we invite candidates, local officials, and authors to tell us what is going on. And we have many events you can attend to learn more, get inspired and motivated.

Kathleen Jordan is currently serving as First Vice President of Programs. She is also the immediate past president of KARW. In addition, Kathleen has also served as Vice President of Programs, Awards and Scholarship chair, and Treasurer.

She has been a primary member of KARW for over 20 years and still enjoys all that KARW stands for and appreciates being surrounded by passionate and dedicated fellow conservative members. Kathleen has also served on the Ways and Means committee that planned our January 2026, Paint the Town Red gala with Governor Abbott.

Kathleen is also a Harris County Republican Party Precinct Chair. She truly enjoys getting to know and supporting our conservative elected officials and candidates. She also serves as an election clerk for Harris County. Because Kathleen has lived in Kingwood for over 45 years, she works diligently to protect our community with local, state and federal elected officials. She believes building trusted relationships with community leaders is the key to improving and protecting life in the Lake Houston area. Kathleen also serves as the Legislative Chair for Greater Houston Council of Republican Women.

Kathleen’s family moved to Kingwood in 1978. She attended grade school in Kingwood and actually graduated high school with her future husband, Todd Jordan. The couple has one adult son who lives in North Texas after graduating from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio last year. Kathleen’s mother in law, Barbara Jordan was a founding member of KARW in 1979. Prior to becoming a stay at home mother, she worked for Administaff (now Insperity) as a strategic alliance specialist. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering for Blue Star Moms, Wreaths Across America, and Kingwood High School’s Navy JROTC program. When Kathleen is not volunteering, she likes spending time with family and attending Astros home games. Kathleen and her family have attended St. Martha’s Catholic Church since 1979.

Margaret Kelley- Corresponding Secretary

I have been a member of KARW since I moved to Atascocita in 2022. A neighbor recommended the Club and after attending one meeting I was totally committed to the philosophy of our Club.

ACTIVITIES: I helped raise funds for our big event in 2024 by managing the wine pull. Linda Wilkins and Nancy McCann asked me to help with the Hospitality Committee. You canrecognize me by the red KARW apron I wear at meetings. I also help with meetings outside of the Club held in private homes. When I first joined, I volunteered to help Neil Cliburne, who at that time was head of membership. I liked greeting and helping in any way. Over time I even took photos of meetings when Neil was out of town.

I am also a member of the Lake Houston Ladies Social Club. My 1966 Paschal High School Luncheon club. Atascocita is my 24th home, with many experiences I cherish. My son & his family live in Denver. My Business Degree from TCU has helped with my careers in manufacturing. I have also volunteered with many other charitable fund raisers over the years.

I look forward to serving the membership in the position of CORRESPONDING SECRETARY and in any other way to make our Club outstanding for the Republican Party in the State of Texas.
